Week 16A: Planning Your Future Strategy

Throughout this class, we have used multiple Internet tools like Twitter, newsletters, some old fashioned networking and more to create or improve our businesses. The ones that I enjoyed using and thought were the most useful were Instagram and Google Analytics. When it comes to using these tools for marketing and advertising, money should not be spent endlessly but it is crucial to invest in ads to further grow your business. You should at least post daily on your social media accounts and about 10% of your budget or more should be used to market your products.
In the social media driven world today, you are constantly building a visual profile of one’s self. Instagram is the epitome of this and because it so popular amongst a younger demographic, it is extremely useful in advertising and growing your business online. This is especially true for restaurants and food vendors because users can see your products and become interested by the way the food looks and the aesthetics of your business. Although ads are sometimes ignored, just having them come across a profile is valuable because users may subconsciously store the information about your business in the back of their mind. In addition to this, you can post as many pictures as you want of anything from food to what the weather looks outside your business and it will span across all of your followers. In my opinion, it is the best app for businesses.
The other tool that I find considerably helpful was Google Analytics. It allows you to manage and view how your audience is interacting with your content. With everything from traffic reports to seeing how easy users navigated your profile or site, it is essential in making sure you are reaching your customers and doing so in a way that is sustainable and viable. This tool also is perfect for restaurants because we are constantly trying to gain customers and keep in touch with our current ones as well. Even though some apps are better for gaining popularity amongst your viewers, I don’t see how any business could function without the use of Google Analytics.

January Content

Instagram: Post pictures daily of our current food, new products, changes in the look of the store, happy customers or promotions/deals that we are promoting. Purchase at least two ads to reach our target demographic.

Facebook: Create a post at least once a week that describes what kind of discounts we are promoting and what our customers can do to become members of Cousha Coffee. In addition post events that we are doing with the community over the next week.

Newsletters: Send a detailed bi-weekly newsletter to all members that have signed up through email that gives anecdotes of our customers and what we have been doing in our community.

Networking: Monitor and occasionally try to communicate with other local coffee businesses to see what new deals that are promoting and what you can do to make sure my store keeps up with current trends.

Google Analytics: Use this tool to see how our business is doing online and what I can do to improve our reach among my audience and customers.

Till next time…x
